Chemical Peels Near Midtown:

Chemical peels are used to exfoliate the top layers of skin resulting in a more even tone and texture. Glycolic (AHA) acid is derives from cane sugar. It is used commonly to brighten, diminish the appearance of sun damage and even out skin tone. Salicylic (BHA) acid is derived from willow bark. It is commonly used to dry up oils and keep pores clean, thus reducing acne. Salicylic acid is also commonly used on more mature skin to offer a deeper exfoliation. Lactic acid is a mild chemical peel option for those with sensitive skin. It is commonly used to treat hyperpigmentation and leave you skin feeling more hydrated. “Skinceuticals Pigment Balancing Peel” combines a number of acids including Glycolic, Kojic, and lactic acid. It is used to treat and correct hyperpigmentation, melasma, photo damaged skin and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation caused by acne.

A chemical peel is a topical solution placed on the skin to gently exfoliate away the dead skin, promote skin cell turn over and dry up oils.
Clients often report a slight stinging or itching sensation in the treatment area that subsides within a few minutes.
Depending on the skin condition some clients will notice results within a few days to a few weeks. Generally 3-6 sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart are recommended.
After treatment we recommend wearing a high SPF and avoiding direct sun exposure for 2 weeks. If needed, use a gentle moisturizer and let the dead skin flake off naturally. Refrain from doing any other cosmetic/laser treatments for 2 weeks post treatment.
